Review: Enterprise Car Rental - Cork Airport

November 12, 2025

Founded in 1957 by Jack C. Taylor in St. Louis, Missouri, Enterprise began with just a small handful of cars and a focus on local rentals, rather than airports – although this would soon change. During Taylor's time in the U.S. Navy he served on the USS Enterprise, which inspired the business's name. Today, Enterprise is headquartered in its birthplace of St. Louis, where it operates globally across more than 9,500 locations in nearly 100 countries.

Location

The Enterprise car rental desk at Cork Airport is on the ground floor of the terminal building in the car hire section, which is easily reached once you pass through arrivals. Once you’re done with your paperwork at the Enterprise counter, you’ll need to take a short shuttle bus ride to the car collection area, which is still on airport grounds but not quite reachable on foot. You'll need to ask staff where exactly you go to board the shuttle, but you can be sure it won't be far for you to drag your luggage.

Fleet

When it comes to Enterprise's fleet at Cork Airport, you're certainly not short on options. Economy vehicles, such as the Toyota Yaris, are typically the most affordable, with daily rates starting at around $30. For travelers needing more space or fancy a bit more comfort, mid-size and standard SUVs – especially useful for traversing the undulating Irish countryside – generally cost between $55 and $75 per day.

If you're seeking something more premium, you can also choose from executive sedans or larger family vehicles such as a Mercedes C-Class, for which you can expect to pay around $110 per day, depending on the usual variables of season, demand and availability.

Insurance and Deposits

At Enterprise Cork Airport, basic third-party liability protection is included, but theft and damage cover are not. Without additional insurance, renters could be liable for the full cost of the vehicle if it’s stolen or damaged. Travelers relying on credit card insurance should bring written proof from their card provider confirming that it applies in Ireland and covers rental cars. If not, Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) can be added at the Enterprise desk. As with most rental policies, tyres, windscreens, glass, and the undercarriage may be excluded, and you should check before paying.

Enterprise places a $288 deposit on the lead driver’s credit card at pick-up as security, released once the car is returned undamaged. A physical card in the driver’s name is required (virtual or mobile wallet cards aren’t accepted) and it must remain valid for six months after the rental ends. Accepted cards include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Debit cards are generally not accepted unless stated otherwise, and a small fuel deposit may also be held to ensure the car is returned with the agreed fuel level.

Client Reviews

Customer feedback can be vital in giving peace of mind before booking a car rental. Enterprise’s service at Cork Airport come with an impressive overall customer rating of 8.5 out of 10, reflecting a strong level of satisfaction. The company performs particularly well for cleanliness (9.1) and service at the rental desk (9.2). The pick-up process scores a decent 8.7, while the drop-off process also rates highly, showing that collections and returns run smoothly.
