Alamo was founded in 1974 with just four locations in Florida and a fleet of around 1,000 cars. Originally targeting leisure travellers at low cost, it positioned itself as a value-oriented alternative in the rental market. In 2007 the brand was acquired by Enterprise Holdings, joining Enterprise and National Car Rental under one corporate umbrella. Today Alamo is headquartered in Clayton (St. Louis), Missouri and operates in more than 70 countries globally, with over 1,100 pickup locations worldwide.

Location

Zero Excess Cover is included, providing CDW and Theft Waiver and reducing the driver’s liability to $0, although a small deposit may still be required and items like tyres, glass and the undercarriage may fall outside the coverage.

A physical credit card in the driver’s full name is mandatory, with American Express, Diners Club, Discover, Mastercard (non-prepaid) and Visa (non-prepaid) all accepted.
